Playlands

October 2026 - March 2027

Made during COVID, when movement and everyday freedoms were restricted, Playlands explores the tension between giving children freedom and keeping them safe.

Set within Connemara’s wild landscape, familiar urban playground structures appear in unexpected rural settings.

These constructed spaces of play sit against an open landscape, questioning where freedom begins and protection ends.

The work reflects on our instinct to create safe boundaries, while longing to give children room to roam.
