Snow Climate

March - June 2023

“In the bleached-out snow white landscape of the Eiger Mountain region of Switzerland there were pops of colour. Denoting man-made infiltration of the pristine natural landscape. These pops punctuated the monochrome - scape in an arresting way. Snow machines in yellow and blue created what was not fully transpiring from nature. A suggestion that landscapes like these are fast eroding. This work celebrates the beauty of below freezing natural territory and the man-made elements that interlope with it.”

Captured in January 2023, this first exhibition by Aoibheann McNamara is a photographic body of work responding to the erosion of vast snowscapes and - as always - man’s intrusion within those places.  Five framed editions of each image will be available from Ard Bia and www.ardbia.com, in A3 (€190) and A2 (€250).
